First Advent Sunday Dear friends, today we celeb First Advent Sunday Dear friends, today we celebrate The First Advent Sunday, marking the Church’s entry into a new Liturgical Year. The fundamental question: ‘What is Advent for you?’, “How important is Advent for the development of our faith?”, ’What should we do?’ Saint Cyril of Jerusalem remarked about Advent: “We proclaim not only one coming but also the second. The first coming is characterized by patience, while the second will bring the crown of the divine kingdom.” Advent signifies the waiting for the complete arrival of Christ, encompassing both the first and the second comings. The liturgical year we celebrate begins with the revelation and birth of Christ, continues with His ascension and the Pentacost, and culminates in our anticipation of the joyful and hopeful coming of the Lord [cf.
